As we informed you not long ago, we were preparing a project of a new welding school on the premises of our company. The facility was completed a few days ago and the premises were ceremonially opened by the company's CEO Petr Vlček and Infrastructure Manager Pavel Špecián on Thursday, 14 July. Below you will find a few words about the entire project and the photographs from the opening ceremony.
We put great emphasis on maintaining the quality of our products. One of the main operations in the manufacture of railway wagons is welding. To meet the high requirements for the quality of welding, welders need to be not only tested, but also educated, and their skills thus developed.
For this purpose, the management of the company decided at the beginning of this year to establish a "Welder Test and Training Centre" in the premises of the former Welding School. Construction works began in March and were completed in June. Given that the original premises could not be used for the intended purpose, completely new facilities that meet the current trends were built. The current centre consists of changing rooms and sanitary facilities, a warehouse of welding materials, a classroom with a projector for teaching theory to 12 welders and, in particular, a workshop for practical tests and training. The workshop is equipped with five welding stations, each of which has welding machines used in production, including TIG welding machines. Our company is convinced that continuous testing of welders and their follow-up training will result not only in compliance with the high requirements for the quality of welds, but also in an increase in quality. The training and development of welders is managed and supervised by Chief Welding Engineer, Mr. Matuna, and his team consisting of welding supervisory staff.
The entire project of the “Welder Test and Training Centre” was carried out by the staff of the infrastructure section. We must thank them for a job well done!
